 Save our Skating Glen Allen, VA - Family Golf Center is bankrupt. They are the owners of Skate Nation at Short Pump. All the properties of Family Golf will be auctioned in two steps on 5 February 2001 and 9 February 2001. What this means is that on the closing date of this auction (28 Feb.) the new owners will take possession of this skating rink. The asking price for this Skate Nation rink is $5,500,000. This is potentiallly bad news for our community because the new owners can do practically anything that they want with the property. This location is prime retail territory and it is verylikely that the new owner, being interested in their return on investment, will turn this ice rink into retail shop(s).
